But isn't that what we are supposed to do? Talk softly to them? I am really one to talk, or yell rather.

Hehe, you're right, but when they're all involved in a project, or playtime, a soft voice doesn't cut it for getting attention! I generally have a soft low key voice in the first place, so losing it makes it nearly impossible for them to realize I'm saying something to them when they're involved!
I'm seriously thinking of asking my classroom aide to read them their stories tomorrow.
